This is a thread for all things relating to the work of the club committee.
The role of the committee is to manage the affairs of the club . The committes
is accountable to the club's members. It meets every month.
The committee recognises that members have not always been aware of its work. So this thread will be used to keep members informed of what the committee doing.

It's our monthly club night .
This month we 'd like to invite members to come along to talk about the plans for the season. What events will you be entering, what are your goals and how can the club help you be a better cyclist in 2018?
We'd also like you put your name down to help at a least one of the club's events in 2018.
Club kit will be availble.

Dear members of Lea Valley CC,
As some of you will know, we were to unable to hold the LVCC AGM on the 12th December as the meeting was not quorate. We need 20% of the membership to attend the meeting , that’s about 30 people at the moment. I am afraid that we only had 12 there so the meeting, especially as were to elect a new President could not go ahead.
Thank you, by the way , to everyone who did attend on what was a rather cold and miserable December evening.
Whilst we did have a good discussion about the club, including ideas for organising events and the renovation of the race HQ we were not able to get any of the “official “ business done. So John is possibly still the President , we still don’t have a club secretary and the committee remains the same
All of this means that we must make another attempt to hold the 2017 AGM.
So, on Tuesday 9th January the Lea Valley 2017 AGM will be held at the Scout Hut in Woodbridge.
The meeting will start at 8pm or once we have the chair out and we are quorate. The agenda will be the same the meeting on the 12th.Volunteers to help me, Edward, run the meeting and take minutes would be more than welcome.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to discuss any agenda item or are interested in standing for the committee or one of the club’s offices. The email is Edward@davisward.com.

Hello every one
As mentioned on last sunday's club run, next sunday is the annual Gordon Attwell Tourist Trophy . It's an audax/ reliabilty ride run from the Burton End Hut. There will, I think, be two rides . One is a 30 mile, the other a 50 mile ride , both are through the glorious N Essex country side. Your map reading skills may be needed.
The event starts from Burton End at 10.00am . A number of us will be driving up in cars . If you want a lift then please be at the Town Hall ready to leave at 8.45am . Please let the club know, either here or on the FB page if you need a lift.
Afterwards we meet at Burton End for a lunch prepared by Frida. Again, an idea of numbers attending would help the organiser. -
Dear fellow members,
We have a new venue for club nights. It’s the 14th Walthamstow Scout Hut on Wood Street. Older members will remember when we used to meet there.
However, dates are changing. Our first night there will be the 9th October, which is a Monday
Then the next two dates are:
14th November 2017
12th December 2017These are both Tuesdays.
This also means that the AGM will be on the 12th. On each nigh we have the hall from 8-10 , but with an early start on the 12th. I also understand that it has Wi Fi.
