^ That link just takes you to the page from which you can download the form. Here is a link to the actual form: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3wfrv1txte92ny1/TLI%20Event%20Entry%20Form.pdf?dl=0
In the unlikely event anyone is reading this now, don't forget
a) the clocks have gone back
b) the club run (from the town hall over to Hog Hill) is meeting at the earlier time of 8:30am this week -
cough
1) Who are you, user53170?
2) I had already been in touch with Steven via the Facebook page (as 'Lea Valley') and suggested he set up this thread!
3) I don't actually run the Facebook page, people just think I do because I do a lot of the posts. Steve M is in control of it and does the weekly club run & club night reminders. Most of the other posts are by me or Edward, occasionally by Alex or Chrystyna. -
Here is the entry form (which gives you a one-day membership of TLI), please print one off and fill it in in advance to save a bit of time on the day: http://www.tlicycling.org.uk/Downloads.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

Don't think the mooted Catford/Bec ride is happening (unless Tom is still planning to head down there?) - too many people battling colds who can't face the distance and climbing involved. It would be a good route to do another time, though. Tomorrow I'm going to do this route at a gentler pace than normal (been off the bike due to illness for a bit - the last few club rides I did before that were at about 19mph, will be hoping for 17-17.5mph tomorrow): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16005963

Our annual club crit championship will take place on Sunday 30th October at Hog Hill. Trevor Whittock is organising the event again - as last year it will be a TLI event so you will need to fill in one of their forms (Trevor is digging out a link for this and should post below). Please arrive around 9:30am so that there is enough time to get everything sorted out before we start the race at 10:15. We should be using the same circuit as last year, i.e. the lower circuit with a truncated climb (halfway up the hill you take a sharp left and come back down again). The event is open to any member of the club - hopefully the women's prize will be a bit more hotly contested that last year! Have a read about the 2015 version here: http://leavalleycc.tumblr.com/post/137842824638/len-cooper-circuit-race-15th-november-2015

That's right. There has been some talk of riding down to catch bits of either or both of the Catford Hill Climb (on Yorks Hill) and/or the Bec Hill Climb (on Titsey Hill). Someone posted this route that they had ridden in the past: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/11258085
The problem is that some people need to get back much earlier than could possibly be managed (that route is 60 miles - but that's starting and finishing in Greenwich, not Walthamstow, plus a lot of the riding is through urban South London and won't be that fast). So there's also been talk of riding down and getting a train back. Nothing agreed yet. Watch this space! -

Message from Charlie: "On Tuesday, we have some winter kit samples available to try on and see the quality. This will be at our once monthly location: The Nags Head from 8pm. If you want to check out the winter, water resistant jersey and hardshell jacket, come on down. The winter kit shop will be going live within the next week or so!"

The plan tomorrow is to use the same route that we used 3 weeks ago (with optional cafe stop in Blackmore on the return leg): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16005963

If you want to enter online on the CTT website, here is the link: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/race-details/12711
(but obviously you have to be a member of LVCC or another CTT-affiliated club)

Don Keen says: "Hi All. Just to remind you all that this year the Gordon Attwell Tourist Trial will be a reliability ride of two distances. Just under 50 mile and just under 30 mile. The start will be from the LVCC bungalow at Burton End, CM24 8UQ. Starting at 10am. On Sunday 16 October. You can ride either distance as the 'tourist trial' trophy will be awarded using an ingenious system covering either distance.
You will not be stopping and starting, answering lots of questions but reading a route card and map to give you a virtually uninterrupted ride around some of the little lanes of Essex.
I hope this new format will encourage more members to come out and enjoy this very sociable event whilst still getting some good miles in.
Please let me know by email don@keenyville.fsnet.co.uk if you are riding and if you require lunch ( and any dietary requirements). Lunch will be from 2pm and a small charge will be made to cover costs."

A bit different from usual tomorrow. Club president, John Summerhayes, is leading the traditional 'Summerhayes Summer Saunter' August Bank Holiday ride. Rather than riding down to the south coast and getting a train back, it has been decided to avoid the vagaries of the current Southern Rail service and do a car-assisted ride instead. John can squeeze up to five people and bikes into his car - if you're going, meet at the Town Hall (usual place: Forest Road, Walthamstow) at 8:45am. The plan is to drive up to the race HQ at Ugley (near Stansted Airport) ready to start a long social ride heading out towards Maldon and back. Details here: https://leavalleycc.microcosm.app/events/2116/
The fast group/groups are divided tomorrow. Some of the very fastest are heading out at stupid o'clock in the morning on the 'Dad's club' ride (needing to get back very early for family duties). That leaves the rest of us probably going at a slightly more reasonable pace (think 18mph, instead of last week's >19mph). As one member has his engagement party to get back for, this ride is going to be a bit shorter than usual: just 45 miles with the aim of being back before 12pm. No cafe stop this week. Meet at the town hall at 9:00am. Route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16170664

Late notice again, route for the fast group here, possible cafe stop in Blackmore if people want it: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16005963

Very late notice, but this is the route for tomorrow (as used a few weeks ago when Mr Veitch was cursed with three punctures): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/15133268
I'll do my best to get to the Nag's Head on Tuesday. I'm afraid my trophy is rather tarnished.
