Hi. Sorry it might be confusing. The prizes for the club events eg club 25, club 30 etc can only be awarded if you enter into the club events that I posted in the Club Handbook Supplement. As Jamie says you don't necessarily need to supply your times as we hold these in club records. At the end of the year we will also work out your handicap for the club handicap event.
But the award for club champion can include any event you have entered. As long as it includes a 10, 25, 30 and 50 TT. Sorry its a bit obtuse but keep riding those TT. -

Dear All,
Please find enclosed 2016 Handbook Supplement which gives details of all 2016 Time Trial Qualifying Events for club trophies, club handicap awards and club championship. There are a number of awards the club has to offer.
Club Championship - this is awarded to the club member with the fastest total for a 10m, 25m, 30m and 50m time trial.
Fastest 10 - a trophy is available for the club member with the fastest 10m time trial (TT)
Fastest 50 - a trophy for the fastest 50m TT over the year
Fastest 100 - Again another trophy for the fastest 100m TT.
Longest 12hr - Awarded to the club member who completes the most miles in a 12hr TT.There are also handicap awards given for each distance. Your handicap is given on the basis of performance in the last 2yrs and age. This will have an impact on your time for each event and gives an opportunity to get awards for a number of events.
So the list enclosed is those events that can qualify for awards. Each event has an organiser (Event Secretary) and your entries must be submitted to them 10days before the TT Event. To find out the details of the Event Secretary have a look on the CTT website or contact Mark

Dear All,
As you may be aware the Club has agreed to organise a number of Time Trial and Racing Events over the year.
We would ask that club members commit to marshaling at a least one event over the year in order to support Lea Valleys active participation in London East cycling network.
Jamie has uploaded a copy of the marshaling time table (see below). Can you please let me know of any dates your are available to commit too.
Thanks for all your support.

An excellent event with nearly 60 competitors ventured a foggy but dry and windless morning on the E1. So good that the course record was broken by ColinWard of Essex Road in 1hr 5mins and 6secs, breaking his own course record by 5secs.
Thanks to all Marshalls and helpers. Here is the official results sheet. -

Club 30
The marathon runners did 26 miles last Sunday but the Lea Valley Time Trialists did 30 in the cold. The 32nd Association 30 Time Trial event was joint organised by Lea Valley and Shaftesbury and it was great to see the 2 clubs working together to put on a good event. There were 12 entries, all turned up on the day with 5 Lea Valley riders (one up on last year). Despite the forecast of rain all Sunday morning and the reality of downfalls through the night, the event was dry with few puddles to hinder our efforts. Stan acted as event secretary on the day and entertained those signing on all with his exploits of his past pro rides with Anquetil and his future plans to break the world hour record for his age category.
Armin started the field off and got to the line on time! James Hodges and Chris West put in their first 30 event. Despite reservations from Chris having conned by Mark’s assurance that it was ‘only and extra 5 miles’ from our usual events, was content to spend over 80mins crouched uncomfortably on his bike. Derek was his usual sleek self and was the fastest Lea Valley Rider (1.16.57) with James an impressive 2nd (1.22.22) and Chris not far behind (1.25.47) with Mark (1.30.51) and Armin (1.46.28) finishing up the field.
Thanks to Lea Valley Marshalls Rob Smart and Ken Bacon and Stan Broome for acting as Event Secretary on the day. Any offers to plan the next one in 2016?

Thanks All,
Jon can you send me our e mail address so i can send you some details. Martin i think i had yours on Tuesday.
Jon and Martin. Thanks. Marshaling is fairly straightforward. It will primarily involve standing in a high viz and being very visible to cyclist and directing them in the correct direction of the course. Most marshaling points are at the roundabouts to ensure that the cyclist does not take the wrong exit. You will also have something (flag or another high viz) to warn the cars that a cyclist is ahead, but it is the riders responsibility to stop for traffic in accordance with the Highway Code (rules of the road). In the event of an accident you may need to call an ambulance to assist. The main role is to be seen to ensure the rider and traffic act safely.
There will be experienced marshals around who will be able to guide and mentor you.
Thanks Jamie for your help on the day.

Hi All,
Please see the event details for the TT event on 30-9-14.
Can you let me know if you would like to Marshall for this event.
Even if you are a novice at Marshalling I would love your help.
If you need a lift let me know and I can try and make some plans.
Apprecaite your support and look forward to your response.

Hi All,
I thought i would make use of this new site to invite you all to the event on 28/9/13. A 30m TT starting at Club Huts.
There will be lifts if you need one. Just post and ask on the web site.
It should be a nice way to almost end the season with our last (but one) TT (25 on the following week)I would ask if you are not intending to race, would you kindly marshall on the day (again lifts can be arranged).
Please remember that we would like all club members to marshall at least one event during the season.
Thanks

Dear All, Thanks to all the Marshalls, time keepers and of course event secretary's for all your help and contribution last Sunday.
Our next event is an open 25 in April. Don't forget to Marshall.
